Hello!
So you're using multiple websites in two different businesses and were wondering if it's possible to set canned responses individually per website. Well, yes you can!
You need to diversify your Websites per skill (according to this guide: http://blog.livechatinc.com/2010/11/quick-tip-install-livechat-on-multiple-websites/)
Afterwards diversify Canned Responses - set per skill.
Your operators need to be assigned to proper skills at Operators > Skills management in your control panel. Here's where it starts to get tricky:
If operator 1 is in skill A (for website A), he has a set of responses for skill A.
If operator 2 is in skill B (for website B), he has a set of responses for skill B.
however:
If operator 3 is in skill C and D (for websites C and D), he has a set of responses for both C and D.
This means, that if you want to keep response sets individualized per skill, you need to have an Operator per Skill. If he should use multiple sites (skills), he will retain multiple sets of responses.
There is a work around of course!
- When preparing responses for an operator working with 2 websites, pay attention to tags. Add a Website1Name tag to Website 1 responeses, and Website2Name tag to website 2 responses.
Having this set up, your operator can hit #website1 and choose responses assigned only to this site. Unfortunately hitting # only will result in displaying both sets.
